Job Description

  • Build and lead a portfolio-wide cybersecurity program, setting standards and driving measurable improvements across multiple businesses
  • Maintain real-time visibility into cyber risks, posture, incidents, and remediation progress across the portfolio
  • Translate assessments into clear, prioritized, and actionable security improvements
  • Establish consistent cybersecurity governance and deliver concise, board-level reporting and insights
  • Influence senior stakeholders (CEO/CIO/CTO/CFO) and drive execution without direct authority
  • Oversee incident response readiness and coordinate with external cybersecurity vendors and partners
  • Shape strategy for emerging risks, including AI-driven threats and next-generation security technologies
  • Support acquisitions and growth initiatives through cyber diligence, remediation planning, and roadmap development

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will likely have:* 8-15 years of relevant cybersecurity experience

* Experience owning and executing cybersecurity programmes within:

o a cybersecurity consulting firm,

o a managed security / cyber advisory environment,

o a private equity portfolio operations setting, and/or

o as a senior cybersecurity leader within a mid-to-large enterprise

* Strong understanding of cyber governance, risk management, incident response, and operational cybersecurity

* Experience working with executive leadership teams and presenting to boards or senior stakeholders

* Exposure to multi-entity or portfolio-style environments preferred

* Experience conducting or overseeing cyber maturity assessments and remediation programmes

* Familiarity with modern security tooling across endpoint security, identity and access management, cloud security, backup, monitoring, and incident response

* Good understanding of evolving regulatory and governance expectations across cybersecurity and operational resilience

* Strong understanding of how AI is changing the cybersecurity landscape, including AI-enabled threats, GenAI governance considerations, AI-assisted attacks, and emerging AI-native defensive tooling.

* Ability to operate in a lean, fast-moving, highly collaborative environment

* Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple organisations and drive execution in environments without direct authority.
