Prior to PageGroup, where were you and what were your specialisations?

Before PageGroup, I was fortunate to be a part of two great workplaces – Google India and LinkedIn India. My roles at both these organisations were in consultative sales. At Google, I worked with Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) in India and Asia Pacific, helping them get online and establish a presence on Google properties, including search, display and video advertising. At LinkedIn, I worked with a similar portfolio of clients, helping them build an employer brand for themselves across several solutions on the platform. In between, I completed my MBA at the Indian School of Business, with a dual major in Marketing and Strategy & Leadership.

Why did you join PageGroup and what does your current role consist of?

The opportunity to create impact on a very visible scale, as well as managing, in a way, your own mini-business within the organisation, is most alluring about PageGroup. At Michael Page, I work as a consultant in the Sales and Marketing team helping organisations and candidates in the consumer space find each other. I joined PageGroup because of the direct network of individuals that I get to meet, as well as work with every day. I get satisfaction from finding the absolute right fit for an organisation, and the joy of never being bored – there’s always something to do!

How have your past experiences helped you in your current role?

Being in consultative sales has helped me look at “selling” the right way – figuring out if and why your clients need you, and understanding how to help them get to express that need with the right set of questions and answers. Both my previous organisations also helped me meet Corporate Executive level (CXO) individuals on a day-to-day basis for business development, helping me build my confidence and clarity of communication when interacting with them. Working with smart, level-headed and ambitious individuals has helped me adjust to a similar working environment at PageGroup.

What have been your greatest accomplishments during your time at PageGroup?

In my time at Michael Page, I have been supported by an incredible team, that has helped me achieve and go beyond my targets in two consecutive quarters, bring back a couple of clients where the relationship has gone south, and also tap into a couple of new clients that have given us significant business quarter-on-quarter. More importantly, with the steep learning curve here, I feel myself much closer to the goal of an ideal recruitment consultant – someone who knows her industry specialisation, candidates in that field, works with and gets business from new and existing clients in the business, and knows how to put the two together. I have developed in the quality of my conversations, in my industry knowledge about consumer-facing organisations, in my method of business development, and in being a trusted face representing the PageGroup brand. I have miles to go, but I feel proud of having come a long way from the day I first joined PageGroup.
