A Qualified Chartered Accountant who has prior experience of dealing with Insurance Accounting, Insurance Financials and have exposure to IFRS17 and Ind AS implementation. The job also requires understanding around GST from invoicing perspective for premium and having strong reconciliation skills.Ability to manage stakeholder's expectation and cross functional communication is also preferred.

Job Description

  • Manage financial accounts for India
  • Assumes overall responsibility for sound financial direction, practices and procedures
  • Influence the business on strategic financial planning, monitoring and projection processes.
  • Manage the month/year-end close-down process
  • Prepare monthly management accounts in preparation for review
  • Analyse and review monthly financial results for quality/ accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain the accounting processes and controls of the India financial reporting process including keeping the Sarbanes-Oxley process narratives up to date.
  • Ensure completion of regulatory returns, tax filings and annual financial statements
  • Submit to STL after consultation with local management
  • Coordinate risk management program, assist management in the identification and tracking of risks
  • Facilitate and monitor work of internal auditors, including scope of work to be performed.

The Successful Applicant

  • A qualified Chartered Accountant with ONLY core insurance companies
  • Experience with Company Secretarial and Tax will be an advantage
  • Good command over written and spoken English
  • 4-6 years of middle management work experience in an insurance accounting.
  • Project Management skills
  • Ability to resolve complex issues independently, drawing on knowledge of the industry and accounting principles
  • Accounting knowledge, e.g India GAAP and US GAAP
  • Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance business
  • Tax - preparing and filing returns, dealing with tax issues / authorities (direct tax, service tax etc.)
  • Company Secretarial - filing returns
  • Basic coordination of legal work - agreements, contracts etc.
  • Knowledge / experience of foreign exchange matters
  • Management financial reporting experience
  • Ability to perform accounting research and analysis
  • Ability to provide recommendations relating to accounting / financial policies
