Job Description

  • Lead SCM for the group with multiple factories.
  • Drive effective supply chain operations with a team of 8-9 and get work done through effective delegation to align himself better on strategic aspect of the role. Overhaul the systems, processes and team if needed.
  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-efficient sourcing of materials.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible terms and maintain strong relationships. Aim for 8-10% price cut.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and meet business objectives.
  • Squeeze out discounts and drive price cutting.
  • Lead spot buying negotiations of polymers
  • Leverage import data and find buyers/rates used by competitors.
  • Onboard new vendors and diversify vendor portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other players in the market to consolidate buying power and driver better prices for the group

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Commerce/Finance, etc.
  • Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain operations in Polymer processing (cables, footwear, synthetic leather etc.)
  • Should have worked in a promoter driven setup.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
  • Have good exposure in international sourcing.
  • Have strong attention to detail and a commercial bent of mind.
  • Should have dealt with volatile products like Polymers.
  • Have exposure in using ERP and ensuring Just-In-Time inventory.
