About Our Client

The client is a leading global player in producing and developing high-quality food products with global manufacturing. The client is setting up an integrated food processing complex with forward and backward connections with its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Job Description

1. Project management

  • Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles and the Project Management Activity as outlined by the client.
  • Coordinate personnel (e.g. other project engineers, technicians, contractors etc.) to ensure the project's objectives are satisfied.
  • Propose and control the cost of the project in accordance with the Guidelines for project planning.
  • Propose and monitor the project in accordance with the key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company's values.
  • Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and Environment to all team members.



2. Conceptual study phase (feasibility & approval)

  • Ensure that all projects are designed for the long term and result in a positive impact on the company's business growth.
  • Prepare the project for approval in accordance with the standards for equipment installation.



3. Design phase

  • Ensure that all equipment is well designed (i.e. plant layout, equipment selection etc.) and fits the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic science.
  • Ensure that the design is directed towards an optimum cost, highly efficient and flexible operation.



4. Implementation phase

  • Always ensure safe work sites and installations that are easy to operate, clean and maintain as well as guarantee after commissioning the safe, consistent manufacture/distribution of quality products.
  • Ensure that when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers etc. that the scope, deliverables, performance and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front.
  • Ensure that a progress report is prepared for all projects monthly.



5. Start-up / close out phase (commissioning/final report)

  • Ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.
  • Ensure that the operators and technicians are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment to the client is both smooth and efficient. This includes all the supporting documentation that will be required by the user to operate and maintain the plant. e.g. operating instructions, equipment manuals, plant layouts, maintenance instructions, spare parts listing etc.
  • Manage allocation of all expenditures to clearly defined assets and the entry into the assets register.
  • Complete the project file and ensure that it is handed over to the client. Complete a final report on all projects and ensure that this is circulated to the key stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

Technical / Functional

  • Good exposure of factory operations and plant engineering & project in a process industry (food, beverages, FMCG)
  • Understand the unit operations of plant e.g. HVAC, Refrigeration system, food processing, heat and mass balance of the process, air balancing, steam engineering & air vertical form fill machines
  • Experience of executing project with hygienic engineering e.g. hygienic building, PU floors, equipment's, piping, platforms and drains
  • Capable to understand the engineering drawings, 3d modelling and machinery layout. Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Should be able to understand sequence of project steps, knowledge of plant commissioning and start up.
  • Capable to plan the project activities using software e.g. MS project
  • Knowledge of equipment safety, process safety and capable to understand the risk associated with process.
  • Coordinating with vendors, team of experts, engineering consultants and internal stakeholders and site contractual team. Capacity of person should be good enough to manage cross functional team & parties.
  • Negotiation skills with vendors, capable to understand the contract terms & condition
  • Can understand the project financial e.g. cash flow
  • Good communication skill, change agile, takes self-initiatives and good leadership skills.
  • Honest and good integrity
  • Good analytical skills



Qualifications

  • Degree or master's in engineering /technology (Mechanical or chemical)



Experience

  • More than 10 years' experience in a technical field in food manufacturing or engineering company
  • Person having the project exposure of French fries or potato processing line should be a preference.
