This opportunity is with one of the biggest players in the development sector in India. They work across various themes - sustainable food systems being one of the verticals. The role will focus on the dairy vertical within the food systems value chain.

Job Description

The responsibilities include -

  • Lead research in the dairy sector at a pan-India level and identify interventions across the value chain for the same.
  • Work with different state governments and identify white spaces in the dairy sector as a whole
  • Go beyond the aspect of milk production and also look at the overall aspect of livestock rearing, managing GHG emission in the sector and animal husbandry
  • Understanding the drivers of the Indian consumers which will enable development of strategies to transform consumer behaviour
  • Work on a National Model for Dairy which will involve identifying the white spaces, the risks and policy interventions for growth in the dairy sector
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor the progress of implemented strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.



The Successful Applicant

A successful applicant should have:

  • A relevant educational background in the Dairy or Veterinary Science domain
  • Atleast 12+ years of experience in the food systems and dairy industry
  • Expertise of working in the dairy value chain - livestock, animal husbandry and bovine sector
  • Stakeholder management experience is a must - the candidate should have an experience of working with external and internal stakeholders
  • Expertise in developing policy interventions in the dairy sector at a pan-India level
  • Experience of working across multiple states with senior stakeholders to drive policy initiatives in the dairy sector
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
