This role is responsible for defining and executing the procurement and contracts strategy across the full project lifecycle for utility‑scale renewable energy projects. The focus is on delivering cost‑effective, bankable EPC, O&M, and LTSA contracts aligned with financing and risk requirements.
  • Own end‑to‑end procurement and bankable contracts for utility‑scale projects.
  • Direct exposure to lenders, advisors, and senior international stakeholders.

The client is a global renewable energy IPP and developer with a strong portfolio of solar and energy storage projects across Europe and the US. Its India‑based global capability centre supports international projects by providing expertise in engineering, procurement, investment analysis, and commercial contract management.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies from an owner's perspective, aligned with project timelines, financing, and risk profile.
  • Determine optimal contracting approaches (Turnkey EPC vs Split Supply & BOP) based on cost, risk allocation, and lender requirements.
  • Lead vendor pre‑qualification and tendering for EPC, equipment supply, BOP, O&M, and LTSA packages.
  • Manage detailed techno‑commercial evaluations, benchmarking, deviation analysis, and negotiations.
  • Structure and finalise bankable contracts with appropriate LDs, guarantees, and performance securities.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, finance, legal, and asset management teams.
  • Support O&M and asset management through vendor performance reviews and contract renewals.
  • Interface with lenders and technical advisors during due diligence and audits.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement and Contracts Lead should have:

  • 9-14 years' experience with IPP or developer organisations in renewable energy projects.
  • Strong exposure to EPC (Turnkey & Split), O&M, and LTSA contracts.
  • Solid understanding of Solar PV and BESS technologies and supply chains.
  • Proven skills in cost benchmarking, risk allocation, and lender‑aligned contract structuring.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC or equivalent industry‑standard contracts and project finance requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred); MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Finance preferred.
  • Experience on large‑scale (>100 MW) and multi‑country renewable projects, including lender due diligence.
