Our client is one of the leading FMCG companies in India and one of the market leaders within their product portfolio. With a legacy of more than 100 years in the India market, they have a strong presence across India and in the global markets. The organization is looking to aggressively expand it's existing footprint across all trade channels and is hence looking to hire a President Sales to lead the initiative.

Job Description

As President Sales, reporting to the Executive Director and based in Ahmedabad, you will be responsible for:

  • Overall company sales and distribution.
  • Giving Strategic direction to the team to optimize the overall performance.
  • To review and set budget and targets for top line, market share, revenue, branding etc.
  • Liaison with Manufacturing, Marketing and Finance to set sales goals and budgets to meet and exceed Sales revenue and profitability targets.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a multi-functional team including General Trade, Modern Trade, Trade Marketing
  • Plan and implement strategies on product positioning, new market development, channel segmentation, sales mix and pack sizes in order to augment business.
  • Identify and penetrate new market segments and exceed profit margins.
  • Analyze price positions and recommends most appropriate pricing changes, assessing the impact on results in turn driving profitability.
  • Providing inputs to Management for Sales Strategy and marketing decisions based on observations and customer feedback.
  • Ensure effective liaison with all stake holders - Internal and External
  • Ensure effective implementation of all market related activities.

The Successful Applicant

MBA / PGDM or any other equivalent Masters degree with 20+ years of total experience and at least 15 years in a people management/leadership role. Experience of working in the FMCG industry managing CSD, Institutional, Retail and Modern trade business is ideal. The person should possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills besides sound commercial acumen. He/She must have strong communication and presentation skills along with good negotiation and prospecting skills. Sound communication skills & outstanding analytical skills besides strong expertise in interpreting results and deriving insights is important.
