Job Description

Reporting to the Purchase Head, you will:

  • Lead the purchase function for Capex projects at Vadodara and Dahej sites, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans focused on value engineering and cost optimisation.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery time lines.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for local sourcing and cost reduction.
  • Manage a team of 5 procurement professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and performance oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, including ethical sourcing and environmental sustainability.

The Successful Applicant

  • An Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred) is required; Electrical may also apply.
  • 15-20 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on Capex procurement.
  • Proven experience in managing procurement budgets of ₹70-80 crores annually, preferably in MNCs.
  • Expertise in strategic procurement, value engineering, and cost optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience in sourcing materials locally, especially in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills, with experience managing teams.
