Job Description

You'll bring your communication, analysis, problem-solving skills and initiative to this role to:

  • Support the Global Head of Analytics Assurance in delivering the team's vision and development roadmap and manage the implementation of functional initiatives in the department.
  • Lead, support and deliver on data-driven audit planning including data analytics strategies to identify high-risk areas, prioritise audit activities and optimise resource allocation.
  • Lead, support and deliver on multiple assurance activities, overseeing timely completion to a high standard in accordance with our methodology, processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain our data infrastructure. Work closely with various teams to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for performance.
  • Communicate with audit stakeholders about audit requirements for data access on an ongoing and timely basis.
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Audit in the collection and analysis of data for both continuous auditing purposes and planning insights for reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders across the business outside of GIA
  • Deliver insightful analysis that enables audit teams to achieve their objectives
  • Research, define, test and implement any future Analytics Technology or Infrastructure needs of the department.

The Successful Applicant

  • 9+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in programming languages such as SQL, Python and visualisation tools (PowerBI, Qlik).
  • Strong Python development skills including use of Jupyter notebook to prepare data and gain data insights, supported with Cloud and DevOps skills.
  • Solid working understanding of common data formats i.e. Parquet/Avro/Json/Json-nl/Xml.
  • Experience in engineering of data pipelines from data acquisition and ingestion though the data lake, various means of consumption including, reports, dashboards, applications, analytics and ML models, and API's (MS Fabric, Azure Data Factory etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to deliver high quality audits with proven experience in automation, preferably proficiency in no-code/low-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps, Alteryx, Cloud Data Fusion, Zapier, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience of leading teams and managing people, either by overseeing audits or formal line management.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in written and verbal presentation to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field with good educational record up to degree level.
