Job Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all M&A activities.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal teams during transaction processes.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary to support transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence and assess potential liabilities in proposed transactions.
  • Assist in structuring transactions to align with legal and strategic objectives.
  • Stay updated on legal and regulatory developments in the energy sector.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • A degree in Law from a recognised institution along with 10+ years of post qualification experience
  • Proven expertise in handling M&A transactions in the power/infrastructure/energy sectors
  • Strong knowledge of corporate laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
