Job Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including agreements for sales, procurement, and partnerships.
  • Provide legal advice and support to internal business teams on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international laws, especially in the life science and biotechnologies sectors.
  • Manage disputes and liaise with external counsel when necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and provide updates on relevant legislative changes that impact the business.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal policies and processes to enhance legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on legal matters.
  • Assist in corporate governance and company secretarial matters as required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel (Commercial) should have:

  • A degree in law from a recognised university, with a specialisation in commercial or corporate law preferred.
  • Experience in handling contracts, regulatory compliance, and legal advisory in a corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks applicable to the life science and biotechnologies industries.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
