Job Description

  • Assess and audit IT systems, applications, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Identify and report potential risks, vulnerabilities, and inefficiencies in IT processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance IT controls and mitigate identified risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of IT systems with organisational goals.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on audit findings.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in IT auditing, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on IT auditing best practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful IT Internal Auditor should have:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, applications, and risk management frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in IT auditing within the energy and natural resources sector is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly.
