A newly setup Public Markets fund is looking to add an Investment Analyst/Associate to their team based in Mumbai.

About Our Client

Our client is an independent investment firm, that invests in Indian public markets with a private equity mindset. Unconventional in their approach, they think as Business Owners rather than holders of stocks, and seek to stay invested in wonderful businesses for long periods of time. The firm aims to serve its investors through an AIF Category-3 Fund for India-domiciled investors, and an Offshore Domiciled Fund (FPI) for global investors.

Job Description

As part of the investments team your responsibilities will involve but not be limited to -

  • Scanning and identifying listed companies for potential investment opportunities
  • Analysing and evaluating business models of select companies and their competitors
  • Conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities
  • Following broader trends across select industry/sectors of interest
  • Analysing and reporting information related to current positions

The Successful Applicant

  • Educational Qualification - Has completed their education from a Tier-1 institute
  • Experience required - 2-4 years of experience preferably in Equity Research (Buy-side or Sell-side) or Public Markets investing
  • Ability to learn quickly and work across industry sectors
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to use creative ways to research companies
  • Ability to think critically through long-term trends and draw conclusions independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of personal initiative
  • Passionate about investing with a bent towards value investing
