Job Description

  • Lead the development and operations of the business finance support centre into a more commercial minded and business outcome focused future, whilst also driving efficiencies in our process activities too.
  • Develop people leadership of 100+ FTEs, including talent management, direction-setting, performance management, and has a strong focus on employee development and engagement.
  • Create and set the organisational structure, processes, standards, behaviours and culture to cultivate and grow an excellent, larger project controlling function in the RSC.
  • Strengthen and manage a business process ownership, fostering an innovation mindset to drive improvement. Grow team competences in BI reporting, automation, controlling, financial risk management and other required delivery skills.
  • Develop clear career paths to both lower employee turnover and enable the development of the skills required for the future.
  • Financially responsible for the Business Finance teams budget.
  • Align and comply with legal and group policy requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  1. Experienced leader with 10+ years of successfully leading leaders. You may have experience from Shared Service set up or BPO and worked for global multinationals with responsibilities for financial project controlling and/or business controlling units ideally within a project-based consultancy or project-delivery contractor. Experience with project-based revenue recognition, Estimate-to-Complete and project review techniques is a must.
  2. Previous experience of leading organisational and people development change; setting and creating structures to fostering growth of functional skills and developing a culture of innovation.
  3. Understanding of continuous improvement techniques (e.g. lean, Six Sigma etc.) to streamline processes, and experience of leading change management projects.
  4. Experience with internal controls setups.
  5. Excellent stakeholder relationship builder, communicator with an executive presence.
  6. Preferably a qualified accountant or hold an advanced accounting degree.
  7. Stakeholder satisfaction in global business units

  10. Process quality and speed delivery KPI's
  11. Positively influence business results (e.g. Global working capital, through improved client invoicing)
  12. You will be part of the SSC Leadership Team, the Global Business Finance Leadership Team and also be part of our 600+ international finance community.
  13. Working very collaboratively with all stakeholders but particularly the global Business Finance community and other relevant stakeholders in IT, Operational Excellence, HR, etc.

The Head of SSC - Business Finance you are responsible for leading and evolving our growing Business Finance organisation currently sized at 100+ employees. Our support organisation has initially grown through the offshoring our process rule-based activities and has more recently moved into project controlling responsibilities. The addition of direct stakeholder interaction with local Project Managers across the globe, to our existing process delivery has created the need for the SSC Business Finance team to evolve. The team needs to evolve into a more commercially minded and business outcome focused service organisation, whilst also drive alignment and efficiency's in our process rule-based activities too. We're therefore looking for a leader with demonstrable experience (10+ years) of successfully leading through others to develop the team through the next phase of its evolution.
