This is a strategic leadership role responsible for end-to-end procurement, including raw materials, packaging materials, capital goods, and engineering equipment for company's own manufacturing sites, as well as Finished Goods procurement from CDMOs. The position oversees a total spend of over INR 800 CR and plays a critical role in vendor localization initiatives globally.

Job Description

  • Lead the global team for procurement/sourcing of APIs, RM, PM & Capital Goods.
  • Lead the team for all Contract manufacturing for Third Party procurement Finished Goods, across India, China & countries across the African Continent.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to localise & transition supply sources, with a view to optimising the value chain for greater efficiency, resilience & cost-effectiveness.
  • Anchor the Alternate Vendor Development efforts. Develop, negotiate, and manage global contracts with suppliers with sound contracting structures and terms.
  • Evaluate demand patterns and develop a procurement roadmap that speaks to the short-term requirements as well as long term Strategies.

  • Contribute to preparation of long-term plans, annual operating plans, providing inputs from a sourcing/ procurement perspective.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing should have:

  • 15+ years of experience in direct procurement in the pharma industry.
  • A strategic thinker with proven experience in leading procurement teams, including functional heads.
  • Significant experience in handling multiple CDMOs.
  • Proven track record of managing higher spend budgets (over INR 500 Cr) and a wide range of SKUs ; depth of SKU management is more valuable than overall volume.
