The Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement function to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality sourcing of raw materials, components, and services. This role involves developing strategic supplier partnerships, driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimising procurement costs to support business objectives.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute a robust procurement strategy aligned with the company's business objectives in the automotive industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key local and international suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliable delivery.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to secure favourable terms, minimize costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Optimise procurement costs through process improvements, volume consolidation, and supplier performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to align procurement with inventory management and production schedules.
  • Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage procurement budgets effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with financial targets.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leverage digital procurement tools and ERP systems to enhance process efficiency and improve decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

An Ideal Candidate should have:

  • 10-15 years of experience in Procurement of Automotive commodities
  • Open to Relocation to Sri Lanka
  • Great communication and Leadership Skills
