Job Description

  • Strategic Procurement:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Take lead in sourcing of Motor, Controller and Transmission components in India.
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
    • Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms.
    • Leverage data analytics and procurement software to optimize sourcing decisions.

  • Supplier Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Address and resolve any supplier-related issues promptly and effectively.
    • Implement supplier risk management and contingency planning.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
    • Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching.
    • Promote the use of advanced procurement technologies and best practices.

  • Cost Management:
    • Monitor and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.
    • Utilize cost modeling and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis to drive procurement decisions.

  • Risk Management:
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Establish robust quality control processes and supplier quality assurance programs.

  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with overall operations.
    • Support new product development initiatives by sourcing new materials and suppliers as required.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation and efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the automotive or electric vehicle component industry, power electronics or electronic mobility.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud).
  • Experience with advanced procurement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma and Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on strategic thinking and long-term planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to electric vehicle components.
