Seeking a seasoned & dynamic professional to lead the end-to-end Plant Supply Chain operations at a large-scale manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Raw Material & Finished Goods planning and supply, strategic inventory management, supplier development, import/export operations, and leadership of a diverse supply chain team. Experience in managing a complex vendor ecosystem (600-700+ suppliers) is essential.

Job Description

1. Strategic Planning & Execution



  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function at the plant, aligning with business and production goals.


  • Develop robust RM & FG planning processes in collaboration with Production, Quality, and Sales teams.


  • Drive demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply continuity strategies.



2. Raw Material & Finished Goods Planning and Supply



  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging materials to meet production schedules.


  • Oversee FG dispatches to domestic and export customers in line with delivery schedules and compliance standards.


  • Mitigate supply risks through alternate sourcing, safety stock, and proactive planning.



3. Inventory Management



  • Drive inventory optimization strategies across RM, WIP, and FG while ensuring zero production downtime.


  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular audits, and ensure ERP data integrity.


  • Achieve inventory KPIs - inventory turns, aging, holding cost, and stock accuracy.



4. Supplier Development & Management



  • Manage and nurture a supplier base of 600-700+ vendors, ensuring performance on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.


  • Lead supplier development initiatives - capability assessments, audits, and continuous improvement programs.


  • Establish strategic sourcing partnerships and cost reduction programs.



5. Imports & Exports



  • Manage international procurement and logistics operations for critical raw materials and components.


  • Ensure end-to-end documentation, compliance with customs, and coordination with freight forwarders.


  • Handle export logistics of Finished Goods to global customers in line with trade regulations.



6. Team Leadership & Development



  • Lead a cross-functional team of planners, buyers, warehouse, logistics, and supplier quality professionals.


  • Drive capability building through structured training, mentoring, and performance management.


  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.



7. Systems & Process Excellence



  • Leverage ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / equivalent) for integrated supply chain operations.


  • Implement digital tools, dashboards, and analytics for real-time decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

Must-Have Qualifications:



  • Full-time degree in Engineering from a recognized university.


  • Minimum 18 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain roles within Auto Component, Auto OEM, or Heavy Engineering industries.


  • Proven expertise in managing complex plant supply chain operations with a large vendor base (600-700+).


  • Deep understanding of supply chain planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.


  • Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain planning tools.


  • Exposure to global sourcing, customs regulations, and export/import formalities.
