Our client is a leading integrated steel player which manufactures TMT Bars. They are looking for a Head of Operations/COO with a hands on approach to lead the end to end plant operations. The role is based out of Chennai outskirts.

About Our Client

This role is with our client who operates one of India's leading integrated steel plants, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and internationally certified processes. They specialize in producing TMT steel bars across a wide range of specifications. Their main plant based in Chennai outskirts has a capacity of 2.5 Lakh Tonnes per annum, and expanding

Job Description

  • Oversee end to end operations of the integrated steel plants, providing technical expertise on SMS and rolling mill operations
  • Develop and Implement process improvements to improve productivity, reduce breakdowns and improve operational safety
  • Monitor and implement preventive measures to predict breakdowns and defects
  • Prepare and execute SOPs for safety, process automation and digitization
  • Work extensively in the plant, being in touch with issues on the floor

The Successful Applicant

A great fit would be:

  • B.E./BTech from a reputed institute (Metallurgy preferred)
  • 18 to 25 years of overall experience
  • 10+ year of experience operating Steel Melt Shops with Induction furnace having scrap based raw material, with 5+ years in leadership capacity
  • Experience of leading rolling mill operations (TMT Bar manufacturing preferred)
  • Tamil speaking is preferred but not critical for the role
  • Hands on approach to leadership
