Job Description

The Head of HR leads all India HR functions, ensuring compliance with local laws and Company policies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Defining and implementing the India HR strategy aligned with business objectives and Group HR guidelines.
    • Contributing to the overall India business strategy as a member of the leadership team.
    • Monitoring and adapting the HR strategy to meet evolving business needs and market conditions.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Ensuring compliance with all applicable local labor laws, regulations, and employment standards.
    • Implementing Company's health and safety, CSR, and code of conduct policies.
    • Managing legal and disciplinary procedures, including redundancy cases and employee grievances.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development:
    • Overseeing the recruitment process, ensuring timely and efficient hiring in line with staffing plans.
    • Developing and implementing onboarding and induction programs for new employees.
    • Analyzing skills development needs and creating relevant training initiatives.
    • Managing employee performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.
    • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, employee retention, and high performance.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Conducting salary surveys and advising on compensation and remuneration strategies.
    • Managing employee insurance and benefits plans.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Providing HR consulting services to employees and managers.
    • Managing employee relations, addressing complaints and grievances, and resolving conflicts.
    • Promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • HR Operations and Administration:
    • Overseeing all HR administrative functions, including employee records and HRIS management.
    • Providing timely and accurate HR reporting on key metrics such as headcount, staff costs, turnover, and employee satisfaction.
    • Managing HRIS and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Leadership and People Management:
    • Communicating a compelling vision and inspiring a sense of purpose within the HR team.
    • Delegating responsibility, coaching team members, and developing their capabilities.
    • Fostering diversity and inclusion within the organization.
    • Driving for results and taking ownership of team performance.
    • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

This role requires a highly experienced HR leader with a Master's degree in Human Resources and at least 15 years of progressive experience in HR management and development within a large international organization. The ideal candidate will possess the following expertise:

  • Strategic Influence & Leadership: Ability to influence senior management, serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, and translate HR strategies into actionable plans.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Pragmatic problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in using HR metrics, analytics, and systems for data-driven decision-making.
  • HR Functional Expertise: Proven experience across all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation & benefits, and HR compliance.
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building, and employee coaching skills. Skilled in handling employee issues and disputes, with a strong understanding of labor laws and ethical practices. Demonstrated ability to lead change management efforts and drive adoption of new HR programs.
  • Operational Excellence: Excellent organizational management skills, budget management experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Experience implementing Group, Area, and local HR development processes.
  • People & Organizational Development: Strong people engagement and development skills.
