Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



  • Procurement Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for capital investments, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement.


  • Vendor Selection & Negotiation: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global and domestic suppliers for capital equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.


  • Contract Management: Oversee end-to-end contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.


  • Project Coordination: Work closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of procured equipment.


  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate governance standards.


  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality and efficiency.


  • Technology & Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in steel manufacturing technology to ensure procurement of cutting-edge equipment.


  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, suppliers, and industry experts.

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements:



  • Experience: 20+ years in Capex procurement for greenfield steel plants, specifically in hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel manufacturing.


  • Industry Expertise: Strong background in procurement of capital equipment, heavy machinery, and steel plant infrastructure.


  • Negotiation & Contracting: Proven track record in handling complex negotiations and multi-million-dollar contracts with global suppliers.


  • Project Execution: Hands-on experience in large-scale project procurement, from planning to execution.


  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with global steel manufacturers or large industrial projects.


  • Exposure to Industry 4.0 and procurement digitalization initiatives.


  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to drive cost efficiency.
