The Director (AI) will lead the Artificial Intelligence team, shaping the company's vision for AI integration within Mixed Reality (MR) experiences. He/She will be responsible for building a high-performing team, defining the AI strategy, and driving the development and implementation of AI solutions across its product portfolio.

The client develops technology for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) oriented products such as cameras, headsets, and smart glasses for companies.

Job Description

A strong candidate will have:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive AI strategy, aligned with the company's overall business goals and MR roadmap.
  • Lead and manage a team of AI researchers, engineers, and data scientists. Identify and prioritize AI opportunities within the MR domain, focusing on areas like computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning.
  • Architect and design AI solutions that enhance user experience and functionality within its MR products.
  • Oversee the entire AI development lifecycle, from data collection and preparation to model training, deployment, and optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI research and translate them into practical applications for its products.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the AI team.
  • Effectively communicate the value and impact of AI to stakeholders across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

  • PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing AI teams in a technology-driven company.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and deploying AI solutions that solve real-world problems.
  • Deep understanding of core AI concepts and techniques, including machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and deep learning.
  • Knowledge of designing large-scale AI solutions, data integration, cleansing, and transformation techniques.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI platforms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience deploying AI models on these platforms.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Desired Skills Experience with AI for Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) applications is a plus.
  • Experience building and deploying AI models on edge devices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ethical considerations in AI development is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the MR industry and its future potential is a plus
