Our client is building its first Technology Global Delivery Centre (GDC) in Pune to serve global insurance and financial services clients. This is a zero-to-one build-you'll lead strategy, delivery, and talent for software engineering, Azure cloud, digital workplace, and service management. Reporting directly to the Group CIO in the UK, you'll shape a global capability hub for a fast-growing, innovative service provider.

Job Description

  • Build and run the Technology Centre of Excellence in Pune from scratch.
  • Hire and scale teams across:
    • Software development & maintenance (Microsoft stack, Java, proprietary apps).
    • Azure cloud operations (infrastructure, automation, FinOps).
    • Digital workplace & end-user computing.
    • ITIL-based service management (ServiceNow).
  • Define strategy, delivery model, and governance.
  • Ensure quality delivery aligned to SLAs/KPIs.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for global clients.
  • Drive modernization (cloud-native, microservices, automation).
  • Report directly to the Group CIO and join the global tech leadership team.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Global Delivery Centre Lead - IT Services should have:

  • Proven GCC build experience (zero-to-one or major scale-up).
  • 15+ years in IT services/captive centres; 10+ years in senior leadership.
  • Exposure to the insurance/financial services domain or any regulated industry like Pharma or Banking
  • Strong in Microsoft stack, Azure cloud, ITIL processes.
  • Experience managing 300+ FTE tech teams.
  • Global stakeholder management (US/UK clients).
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary tech teams (engineering, infra, service mgmt).
