Job Description


This position is responsible for leading and directing the commercial finance, accounting functions (statutory and U.S. GAAP), operations finance, regional tax (direct and indirect) reporting functions, treasury, and transaction processing functions - accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections. The position will maintain compliance with the Company's internal control program.

  • Act with a Chief Operating Officer mindset in all aspects of the role.
  • Partner with Managing Director, IMEA to develop and drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Develop business strategic direction with a data driven approach and understand key business drivers working alongside regional senior leadership team. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of senior managers to ensure that the organization's financial strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to finance team members regarding performance management, career development, succession planning, etc.
  • Encourage knowledge and practices sharing cross teams in the region or globally.
  • Identify, develop and execute plans to enhance efficiency, accuracy and centralization of processes in assigned areas.
  • Ensure that finance organization prepares accurate monthly financial statements according to U.S. GAAP in a timely manner.
  • Interact with all corporate departments and business units, internal and external auditors, corporate compliance, inside and outside legal counsel, government agencies, and external business partners, such as banks.
  • Coordinate with Corporate finance personnel to ensure global consistency in the application of policies, procedures, and internal controls; ensure appropriate training, education and understanding exists within the local team.
  • Ensure the appropriate implementation and use of financial systems.
  • Direct at a regional level the planning, analysis, review, presentation of the annual Operating Plan and any long-range Forecasts.
  • Monitor performance at the regional level of Operating Income,EBITDA, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet for each segment and Corporate.
  • Provide strategic guidance to minimize the tax burden and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Ensure all statutory filing, including tax, are accomplished timely and accurately.
  • Drive the optimization of cash flows in the region and maintain banking relationships.
  • Perform and direct resources on financial due diligence related to any potential acquisitions and significant expansion or investment proposals as well as managing subsequent integration of targets acquired in the subject region in collaboration/coordination with other corporate functions.
  • Together with regional finance leadership team, manage the external audit process and direct the company's response to requests by both internal and external auditors in relation to accounting issues.
  • Demonstrate unwavering business ethics and demand IMEA organization does the same.
  • Any other special projects as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • Chartered Accountant
  • 15+ years of relevant job experience at a managerial level in accounting or finance
  • Experience in multi-national companies
  • Background in working with Chemical/Manufacturing companies, manufacturing accounting experience
  • International experience/regional experience
  • SAP experience


  • Ability to work in a dynamic, high-growth environment at a fast pace
  • Strong organizational, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in effectively managing and developing teams of individuals to achieve organizational goals and succession planning
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting theories and practices
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate technical issues to all levels of management in English
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple and competing tasks
  • Proven ability to develop plans and manage special projects
  • Extensive computer experience, and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
