Our client is a prominent manufacturer of high-performance electric motors and gearboxes, specialising in customised solutions for various industries. Focused on innovation and efficiency, they offer a wide range of advanced motor technologies, including AC, DC, BLDC, and PMSM, designed for applications like automotive and material handling.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director Design & Engineering, your primary responsibility will be:

  • Overseeing the entire product development process, including requirement analysis, specification finalisation, design calculations, creating drawings and data, prototype building, and validation, while preparing and executing plans for new models.
  • Designing and implementing processes to enhance production efficiency, analyse and re-design existing products and procedures to reduce waste, and achieve cost savings.
  • Maintaining close relationships with the Purchase, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to facilitate new product development, negotiate with vendors for new components.
  • Collaborating with Marketing and Sales for business development and resolving service issues.
  • Monitoring development projects, engage with customers for customised solutions to meet product cost goals, and create and maintain technical documentation, including catalogues and product specifications.
  • Training and enhancing the capabilities of junior team members, applying knowledge of electrical machine design, and using tools like ANSYS and SolidWorks.

The Successful Applicant

  • Should have B. Tech/M. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Should have 20-25 years of experience in designing of light engineering goods.
  • Experienced in managing the entire product development process including requirement analysis, finalising specifications, design calculations, drawings and data, prototype building and validation including designing and implementing processes and procedures to facilitate the smooth functioning of overall production operations.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing & executing the product development plan for all new models from different customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional coordination skills.
