About Our Client

Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has built Indirect Taxation platform for GST to help taxpayers in India to prepare, file returns, make payments of indirect tax liabilities and do other compliances. It provides IT infrastructure and services to the Central and State Governments, taxpayers and other stakeholders for implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India.

The GST System Project is a unique and complex IT initiative as it established for the first time a uniform interface for the taxpayer under indirect taxes through a common and shared IT infrastructure between the Centre and States. The Centre and State indirect tax administrations which used to work under different laws, regulations, procedures and formats and consequently the IT systems worked as independent sites, were integrated into one system with uniform formats and interfaces for taxpayers and other external stakeholders. GSTN provides a strong IT Infrastructure and Service back bone which enables capture, processing and exchange of information amongst the stakeholders (including taxpayers, States and Central Governments, Accounting Offices, Banks and RBI.

Job Description

Work closely with management and government to develop a technology roadmap to further grow on company's vision & mission

Spearhead development of new projects aligned to company's vision while handling large scale projects like Eway bill, E-invoice, Tinxsys, invoice incentivisation

Manage a high performing team of 60 people and further grow them to build highly scalable platforms

Be a core part of management team and work closely to strengthen processes and systems as required to meet the governance, risk, and security norms by strengthening IT Infra & Network security

Strong grasp on latest innovations in technology and a confidence to design and build a world class technology architecture that is scalable, secure, and stable to handle large and rapidly growing transaction volumes in an highly agile environment

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects, including infrastructure design and implementation, system security, and data management.
  • Experience managing IT projects in the finance sector (including Banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies, Insurance and Fintech) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with managing MSPs and contract negotiations.
  • Deep understanding of current technology trends, including cybersecurity, cloud computing and Big Data analytics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal leadership, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of Government functions, operations, regulations, and process is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 20 years of IT experience with at least 10 years in a leadership role in a project of large scale.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or MBA would be desirable

Note : Position will be on GSTN's payroll. However, as per GSTN's policy for their employees, this position will be on 4 year contractual basis.
