About Our Client

Our client is a leading player in the speciality chemicals industry and currently a mid sized organistion. The company is embarking on a major Greenfield project to set up a large, automated manufacturing facility, aiming for significant growth over the next 5 years. They are based out of Mumbai.

Job Description

Reporting into the MD you will be responsible for

Operations Leadership:

  • Oversee all manufacturing facilities and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices across units.



Greenfield Project Execution:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of a new greenfield project, right from land procurement.
  • Coordinate with consultants (e.g., McDonald, Jacobs) for plant design and implementation.
  • Manage environmental and pollution control clearances.



Strategic Growth:

  • Align operations with organizational goals to achieve the designated turnover next year and long-term targets of doubling the top line
  • Introduce modern technologies and automation systems (e.g., DCS hybrid systems).



Cross-functional Leadership:

  • Collaborate with R&D, supply chain, and finance teams for integrated business planning.
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams across operations and projects.



The Successful Applicant

Education: Chemical Engineering (preferably from Tier 1 institute)

Experience:

  • 20+ years in manufacturing operations within speciality chemicals, construction chemicals, or continuous chemical processes.
  • Proven track record in Greenfield project execution and automation implementation.
  • Exposure to sales or business leadership is desirable; at minimum, strong commercial acumen and customer orientation.



Skills:

  • Strong project management and operational excellence.
  • Ability to engage with consultants and challenge designs.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, and adaptability.
  • Gujarati language familiarity is a plus.
