Job Description

  • Evaluate and select battery technologies based on project requirements, performance, safety, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards related to electrical systems, fire safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead the design and engineering of BESS projects, including electrical system design, DC/AC cable sizing, and system integration.
  • Perform system optimization by choosing suitable block size, schematic, layout
  • Design and review system components such as PCS, EMS etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian grid regulations and standards (CEA guidelines, RLDC requirements, IEC/IEEE/UL standards).
  • Develop and review detailed engineering documents, including SLDs, layouts, technical specifications, and BOQs.
  • Provide technical leadership across project lifecycle - from concept design to commissioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (projects, procurement, construction, and O&M) for seamless execution.
  • Stay updated with advancements in battery chemistry, energy storage technologies, and grid integration practices.
  • Support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and technical due diligence for BESS assets.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in BESS and renewable energy projects.
  • Strong expertise in electrical design and system engineering, BOQ preparation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian regulatory frameworks, viz, CEA (Central Electricity Authority) guidelines; RLDC/SLDC grid compliance requirements
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering deliverables (SLD, layouts, BOQ, technical specs).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  • Understanding of mechanical and thermal aspects of BESS design (HVAC, containerized systems).
  • Experience in large-scale grid-connected renewable + storage projects.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA).
