Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Licensing Execution:
    • Accomplish in-licensing and out-licensing assignments for assigned countries/markets as per business requirements.
    • Scout for suitable manufacturers and licensing partners globally and within India for target product portfolios.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Manage, guide, and mentor a team to ensure high performance and timely delivery of objectives.
    • Provide a structured framework and standardized tools to streamline team output and information flow.
  3. Product Identification & Evaluation:
    • Identify potential products for in-licensing in alignment with the needs of company-operated countries/markets.
    • Conduct comprehensive price, cost, and market analysis for selected products to assess commercial feasibility.
  4. Partner Evaluation & Due Diligence:
    • Lead due diligence processes including legal, financial, technical, and operational assessments of potential partners.
    • Maintain and update a database of potential and existing partners, their product portfolios, and future pipelines.
  5. Negotiation & Agreement Finalization:
    • Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing structures, and licensing agreements with partners.
    • Facilitate agreement execution in coordination with legal and regulatory teams.
  6. Cross-functional Coordination:
    • Regularly coordinate with in-country business development and regulatory teams to capture market needs and priorities.
    • Ensure timely receipt and transfer of regulatory dossiers from partners.
  7. Data Management & Reporting:
    • Maintain up-to-date MIS and dashboards to monitor progress on all in-licensing and out-licensing initiatives.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for monthly reviews and senior management updates.
  8. Networking & Market Intelligence:
    • Attend domestic and international exhibitions, partnering forums, and networking events to identify new opportunities.
    • Visit partners periodically to explore new business avenues and maintain strong working relationship.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field. An MBA/PGDM in International Business or Marketing is preferred.
  • 20+years of experience in pharmaceutical business development with strong exposure to licensing and emerging markets.
