The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving annual volume and revenue targets across the Rest of Maharashtra by expanding distributor reach and deepening customer penetration. This role partners closely with the Regional Sales Manager to execute sales strategies, support product launches, and strengthen market presence.

Job Description

  • Develop and expand the distributor network while ensuring effective territory coverage
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts across bakeries, institutional customers, and end-users
  • Drive sales productivity through increased customer calls, product demonstrations, and range selling
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into sustainable accounts
  • Monitor stock levels, track competitor activity, and provide timely market feedback
  • Support new product launches in collaboration with marketing and technical teams
  • Conduct regular customer visits, trade activities, and on-site engagements
  • Gather customer insights to support continuous improvement and new product development
  • Ensure strong brand availability and visibility across retail and trade channels

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science, or related fields
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience within food, FMCG, flavours, or related industries
  • Proven experience managing distributor networks and institutional or bulk-buying customers
  • Strong understanding of regional market geography and customer dynamics
  • Background in HORECA, QSR, bakery, or institutional sales is highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and ERP systems
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and accountable professional with strong ownership mindset
